Job Summary:
The Java Developer/Sr. Developer is individual contributor role with an expectation that the candidate is very good at Java based web/server side development and has good design experience.
Java Developer/Sr. Developer is expected to:
Have good hands-on experience with java based web and server-side development
A high appreciation for and knowledge of Java based software development life cycle and related processes
Has good exposure to SOA, agile processes and lean principles
Has worked on/has been exposed to detailed design of complex java based products/applications
Has experience in creating "componentized" and "layered" architecture.
Be very knowledgeable about various design and enterprise integration patterns in Java based development landscape
Understands best practices in integrating different applications and components
Is a good learner of new technologies and frameworks and takes keen interest in ensuring that product/application gets built with highest quality of code and best design possible
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
The Java Developer / Sr. Developer will be working on design, coding, unit-testing and testing support (bug-fixes) of Java based application/component development. The candidate will be required to:
Understand requirements:
Understand design and architecture direction from architect and other team members
Document design
Develop code following best practices
Develop unit-tests and execute them
Support system integration testing and work on identification of issue root cause and remediation thereby
Establish good clear communication within the team and with other teams working on the product/application
Technologies/Concepts:
Enterprise Java, Spring, ORM Frameworks (like JPA, Hibernate, iBatis), Databases (MS SQL Server, Oracle, Sybase), Web Technologies (Javascript, CSS3, HTML5), Bootstrap, Understanding of web flow (HTTP), web services (SOAP, REST, XML over HTTP), data caches (ehCache, osCache), Application/Web Servers (Tomcat, Websphere, Apache, IIS), exposure to Redis, Angular.JS is good to have
